Bowman Field...a rich history.
The Bowman Field Aviation and Military Heritage Festival was created to celebrate and promote this community resource, which is a historically significant icon in our city.
Our mission: to preserve, restore, and improve Bowman Field’s legacy as the longest continually operating commercial airport in US History. The two-day festival will be on the runway in front of the historic Administration Building and the 1929 Curtiss Flying Service Hangar, currently home of Central American Airways. Aviation and Military enthusiasts from around the country will be bringing their vintage aircrafts from the 1920’s through the 1960’s to display and even provide rides for a few lucky patrons. Bowman Field has such as rich military history, such as the first place to train Flight Nurses during WWII. We want to thank Humana Military for being the 2022 Presenting Sponsor. All Veterans and Active-Duty Military are FREE to attend the Bowman Aviation and Military Heritage Festival. Bring the entire family! MISSION and VISION
